A global paradigm shift towards clean and autonomous mobility solutions. The governments and private sector worldwide investing heavily in Electric Vehicles. The mass adoption of Electric Vehicles globally is a reality sooner than later.
There is a requirement for manpower that is skilled with the combination of mechanical knowledge and has a firm grasp of electrical machines and materials and chemistry. The objective of EDGE is to empower the students for Mobility 2.0.
Skillset for Mobility 2.0
In Collaboration with SUNY Binghamton
The Design Thinking & Innovation Centre of Excellence at Vishwakarma University in Pune seeks to co-create with Binghamton University sustainable solutions to complex, human-centric problems using design thinking processes and practices while integrating the indigenous art motifs of Vishwakarma’s culturally rich region.
Design Thinking is the convergence of people, business and technology that follows an
innovative problem-solving framework used by thought-diverse teams to bring signature
experiences to their customers. Design Thinking is a human-centered approach for
creating a better future and has proven successful for decades. There are many
benefits of Design Thinking, and it is being adopted by leading product and service
providers around the globe. A few of its many benefits include:

Four of our student projects were selected to be presented in the prestigious ZEE Business SAP Dare to Dream Awards 2019 function. These awards are presented to the CEOs and individuals for their path-breaking ideas in the business world. The ceremony was attended by more than 150 CEOs and entrepreneurs from across the country. The innovative project solutions presented by our students were very well received by the audience and are soon on the way to be implemented in the industry. The projects offer novel solutions to the problems faced by the hospitality, automotive industry, and society at large.
The radiant smiles of our students on stage narrated the story of their hard work and success, and we couldn't be prouder!
Vishwakarma University, Pune has set up a Centers of Excellence called SAP i360, in association with industry partners like Unity Technologies, Wilo, Integrated Environmental Services, the State University of New York at Binghamton, Centre for Industry 4.0 to sensitize students to the industry needs.
The center provides an ecosystem for transformational research in tandem with the industry needs and problems identified by the industry partners. The spirit of innovation is inculcated in students right from the first year of undergraduate/graduate studies, and they are trained in the process of ideation of the solution to the final execution. A cross-functional group of students from diverse disciplines such as Science & Technology, Art & Design, Humanities, and Social Sciences, Commerce & Management, Law, etc. work in a team to find solutions to the real-life problems of the industry.
Wilo water quality center of excellence promotes research in water treatment, purification, and creates much-needed social awareness about clean drinking water. The center has been established with the help of a grant from Wilo Foundation, Germany This innovative center was inaugurated on 14th June 2018 by Prof. Dr. Hans Jorg Bullinger, Chairman Board of Trustees, Wilo Foundation.
The center is a step towards fulfilling the motto of carrying out transformational research at Vishwakarma University. According to a report by the World Resources Institute, as many as 54 % of India faces high to extremely high water stress, and the water quality is below standard, resulting in health hazards. It is thus imperative to provide drinking water in its cleanest form. To this end, the Water Quality Centre of Excellence promotes world-renowned water purification technology at a lower cost. The Centre aims at providing technological inventions so that the water does not lose its drinking quality during the purification process.

The lab is equipped with the latest instruments utilized for testing water quality. All physical, chemical, and biological tests are carried out in the center, and results are provided to the customers.
Test: pH, Turbidity, Conductivity, Total Dissolved Solids, Total Suspended Solids, Hardness, Alkalinity, Dissolved Oxygen, Chemical Oxygen Demand, Biological Oxygen Demand, E.Coli Detection, Coliform Detection, Fecal matter Detection, Fluoride Detection, Proximate Analysis, Cation, and Anion Detection, Metal Detection, Insecticides, and Pesticides Identification.
