Vishwakarma University, Pune, proudly celebrated National Sports Day on 29th August 2024 with great enthusiasm and zeal. The event was organized to honour the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, the legendary Indian hockey player, and to promote the importance of sports and physical activities among students and faculty.
We had the privilege of welcoming Mr. Rohit Chaudhary as the Chief Guest for the event. Mr. Chaudhary, an eminent figure in the sports community, brought a wealth of experience and inspiration to the celebration. His presence added great value to the event, motivating students to strive for excellence in sports and academics.
Event Highlights
The celebration commenced with an inaugural ceremony in the university auditorium. The Director, Physical Education and Sports, Dr. Chetan Chouhan, welcomed the Chief Guest with flowers. A brief introduction to Major Dhyan Chand's contributions to Indian sports was also given by Coordinator Prof. Prajakta Kapadnis.
Mr. Rohit Chaudhary delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the importance of sports in overall personality development. He shared anecdotes from his own journey, emphasizing the role of discipline, hard work, and perseverance in achieving success in sports and life. His words resonated deeply with the students, encouraging them to pursue their passions with determination.
Following the inaugural ceremony, various sports activities were organized on the university grounds. 120 Students from different faculties participated in Table Tennis and Basketball matches. The events were designed to promote teamwork, competitive spirit, and physical fitness among the participants.
The day ended with a vote of thanks by the Coordinator Prof. Jayesh Baldota gratitude to the Chief Guest, faculty members, organizing committee, and students for making the event a grand success. The enthusiasm and spirit exhibited by everyone involved were commendable.

Five-Day Workshop on "Curriculum Development for Outcome-Based Education"
The School of Pharmacy, Vishwakarma University, Pune, organized a five-day workshop on "Curriculum Development for Outcome-Based Education" from August 5th to 9th, 2024. The workshop aimed to equip educators with the necessary tools and strategies to design curricula aligned with Outcome-Based Education (OBE) principles.
Day 1: Inauguration and Introduction to Outcome-Based Education:
The workshop began with an inaugural session addressed by Dean Prof. (Dr.) Sampathi Sunitha and Vice President Dr. Vasudev Gade, who highlighted the importance of aligning educational frameworks with OBE. Following this, Dr. K.V.S. Krishnamohan delivered a session on "Introduction to Outcome-Based Education," providing a comprehensive overview of OBE principles and their significance in aligning educational objectives with measurable outcomes.
Day 2: Curriculum Design using OBE Concepts:
Mr. Ajaiy Bhagvvat, Director of Inpods India Pvt Ltd., led a session on "Curriculum Design using Outcome-Based Education Concepts." He focused on the practical application of OBE in curriculum design, emphasizing the integration of technology to enhance educational outcomes.
Day 3: Key Components of OBE and Accreditation:
Dr. Manvi Arora, Chief Compliance Officer at GD Goenka Group, conducted a session on "Key Components of OBE and Accreditation." She discussed critical elements like Program Educational Objectives (PEO) and Program Outcomes (PO), highlighting their role in aligning educational goals with institutional objectives and the accreditation process.
Day 4: In-Hand Training on Educational Planning:
Prof. (Dr.) Nitish Bhatia led a hands-on session on "In-Hand Training on Educational Planning," focusing on integrating OBE principles into curriculum design. The session included engaging activities, with prizes awarded for participants' performance.
Day 5: Pedagogical Approaches and Conclusion:
The final day featured a session by Dean Prof. (Dr.) Sampathi Sunitha on "Pedagogical Approaches." She discussed innovative teaching methods aligned with OBE principles to enhance teaching effectiveness in pharmaceutical education.
The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Poonam Taru. She expressed gratitude to all the speakers, organizers, and participants for their active involvement, which contributed to the workshop's success.

The Interior Design students of Vishwakarma University embarked on a insightful journey of the creation of a grand set for Dagdusheth Ganpati . The visit was organised with a view to sharpen and strengthen student’s intellectual thinking and observations regarding set design .

Upon arrival, students were initially guided to observe the various molds and materials present on-site. They carefully analyzed the different components of the materials available.
The students conducted a detailed study of the manufacturing process, observing each step from solution mixing to the removal of the ready model from the mold.
After the visit, the students curated a detailed questionnaire, which they discussed with the workers present. Based on this discussion, all observations and insights were noted down
