The Faculty of Pharmacy has successfully conducted offline Induction Program on 21st November 2024 in Building Number 2 in class 2210.
The induction program aims to ensure that new students are well-prepared, informed, and integrated into the Pharmacy department, setting a strong foundation for their academic and professional journey.

The orientation program is designed to introduce new students to the academic environment, institutional resources, and community culture. Dr.Sunitha Sampathi mam, Dean of Pharmacy and Dr. Swati Mutha mam Head of Department - Pharmaceutics extended a warm welcome to the participants. Program commenced with lamp lightening. Dr Sunitha mam addressed the gatherings and highlighted the importance of the orientation and the role it plays in setting the foundation for the students' future academic endeavours. Dr Swati Mutha outlined the academic structure, including core subjects, electives, and specializations. He also informed about various academic support services, such as tutoring and mentoring programs.
Dr Sabeena Sayad briefed the students regarding University, Organisational structure, key facilities, different cells and resources available to support their academic and personal needs
Participants were familiarized with the Virtual Online Learning Platform (VOLP) and the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system by Prof. Jisha Joseph. These tools are vital for managing academic and administrative tasks. Dr. Dipali Talale discussed the exam patterns and assessment methods in line with the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) guideline
Esteemed faculty members introduced themselves with their expertise in their respective subjects.
Introduction to Student Welfare and Anti-Ragging Cell by Prof. Vaibhav Thakre, he introduced the Student Welfare and Anti-Ragging Cell, outlining the support mechanisms in place to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment. Dr. Om Bagade presented the Research and Development Cell, discussing the opportunities for students to engage in research activities and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in their field.
The orientation program will conclude with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Amrita Thakur, expressing gratitude to all participants, speakers, and organizers.
Participants were taken on a guided tour of the department. They were shown key facilities like laboratories, classrooms, and common areas, helping them become familiar with their new environment.

The Physical Education and Sports Section, along with the Sports Council of Vishwakarma University, Pune, organized the “Sports for All” (An event for Children with Disabilities) on 13th December 2024 at Dnyangangotri Residential School, Dhayari, dedicated to fostering participation in sports and promoting inclusivity among children with disabilities.

Quiz Competition and Video-Making Competition held on 15th November 2024
The celebration began on the 15th of November with two engaging competitions organized at the School of Pharmacy. These activities were designed to encourage students to explore the subject of immunization and creatively express their understanding.
Quiz Competition: The quiz competition tested and expanded participants' knowledge of immunization, vaccine development, and public health policies. The event served as both an educational opportunity and a platform for fostering teamwork and healthy competition among students.
Video-Making Competition: The video-making competition allowed students to creatively convey the importance of immunization. Participants submitted impactful videos focusing on themes such as vaccine awareness, myths versus facts, and the role of immunization in disease eradication. Submissions were evaluated based on content accuracy, creativity, and the strength of their message. The best videos were showcased on the institution’s social media platforms, extending their reach to a wider audience.
Vaccination Drive on 27th November 2024
A large-scale vaccination drive was organized on the 27th of November in collaboration with Health Department of the Government of Maharashtra, ‘Apulki Sanstha Pune’ and Sun Medico at Sun City Road, Pune from 10:30 am onwards. This initiative aimed to increase vaccination coverage and educate the community about the benefits of immunization.
Role of Student Volunteers: Students of second year D.Pharmacy actively participated as volunteers during the vaccination drive. They assisted healthcare professionals, managed logistics, and educated the public about immunization's significance. This experience provided students with valuable practical exposure to public health initiatives and an opportunity to serve their community. Many students expressed pride and fulfillment in contributing to such a noble cause, emphasizing the drive’s role in bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world applications.
