Overview

The BBA-LLB five-year course is an integrated undergraduate degree programme in Law enabling the students to get requisite knowledge of business administration and fundamental laws, both substantive and procedural laws, enabling the students to be professional.

The programme curriculum, through elective papers offered, enables the students to acquire a certain extent of specialization in Constitutional Law, Business and International Trade Laws, Criminology and Cyber Law, International Law, and IPR.

As one of the top law colleges in the country, we strive to help students resolve legal problems with the correct application of the law.


 
Outcome On successful completion of the BBA - LLB programme at VU (Law) the student will be able to :
1 Acquire conceptual understanding and clarity of the different concepts of Law and apply it to the various fields of Law
2 Demonstrate a command over the procedural aspect of Law and its allied fields.
3 Study legal issues, analyze their complexities, identify flaws, and draw inferences by rational thinking.
4 Utilize proper citations, incorporate the techniques of statutory interpretations, integrate legal authorities, and adopt a deep-diving approach into legal research database software and other credible applications available online.
5 Master the skill of writing legal documents to address the requirements of the case. Identifying and using suitable action words, making concise chronologically arranged drafts.
6 Convey legal information and put across legal arguments in a logical, clear, concise, and persuasive way.
7 Keep up with technological transformation in the Indian legal landscape and apply evolving technologies to legal research and document management systems.
8 Recognize the importance of time management in the legal profession to be able to meet deadlines, manage court hearings and legal calendars, and generate maximum productivity during spare time.
9 Integrate large volumes of information into proper files, logical categories, and hierarchical folders.
10 Detect the legal problems/issues and infer a structured and deductive rationale to reach effective and sensible conclusions.
11 Display determination in the face of challenges while striving for excellence in one’s endeavours.
12 Manage one’s emotions as well as understanding those of others and show empathy towards the disadvantaged sections of the society.
13 Honour the tenets of professional ethics and established legal norms in the practice of Law.
14 Imbibe a solution-oriented outlook while tackling any given situation.
15 Pursue a lifelong journey of excellence through continuous learning. Keep oneself apprised of the latest developments in the fields of Law by inculcating a curious and inquisitive mindset.
16 Contribute to the development of Society while being responsive to its changing needs.

  • Focus on contemporary trends and issues in cyber-crimes, media laws, agricultural industries, etc. We help students develop critical thinking which enhances their research capabilities and transforms them into good lawyers. 
  • Soft Skill and Advocacy Skill training, Case-Studies, Moot Court, Professional Ethics, are distinctive features of this course.  
  • The VU campus is equipped with Moot Court Rooms for Mock Trials and classrooms equipped with audio-visual aids 
  • The Clinical Legal Aid Center will enable the students to solve the cases and interact with community members
  • Skill-based Add-on courses and various Guest Session will provide further exposure to the students

  • Appear as an Advocate in litigations before Courts and Tribunals.
  • Join a law firm and deal in multiple areas of law such as the corporate sector, covering mergers and acquisitions, securities, competition. Arbitration, etc.
  • Work as Legal Counsel for companies under the legal department.
  • Students can pursue higher education like LLM and further take up doctoral studies as well
  • Legal Reporting for Media is an emerging avenue which students can explore 
  • Public Prosecutor is a viable opportunity for the students. 
  • Court Manager is an important factor of Indian Court Systems. Students can pursue to become court managers.  
  • Students can choose to be Legal Analyst and Consultants as well. 
  • Students can represent their clients in getting and defending patents by becoming Patent Attorney
  • Arbitration is an alternative legal process. Students can take up the career of an Arbitrator

  • The first team sent by the Department of Law for the National Level Virtual Moot Court Competition stood third in the competition after 4 grueling rounds of arguments. The team also won the award for Best Researcher. The National Moot Court Competition was organised by I - WIN IP Services and Cell for IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM), DPII, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India in association with Osmania University.

10th and 12th qualification suffices with 10th being the basic qualification for seeking admission into 5 years law course. Applicant/s must obtain basic qualification for admission to five year degree course for which the basic qualification shall be 10th  which shall be required to be followed by +2. The qualifications of 10th, 12th (+2) may be obtained through any mode (distance / correspondence as recognized by the central or state government / open schooling method), with minimum 45%.

For Reserved Category Students – Caste Certificate, Caste Validity, and Non-Creamy Layer Certificate, are additionally required (over and above listed documents).

Separate accommodation and food facility for Boys and Girls on a first come first serve basis.

  • Hostel Charges: Rs 1,05,000/-
  • It includes a Mess (Breakfast + Dinner) and a Refundable Deposit of Rs. 5,000/-.
