Vishwakarma University (VU) has been shortlisted in the ‘Excellence and Innovation in Arts’ category in the Times Higher Education (THE) Awards Asia -2022, also known as the ‘Oscars of higher education’. VU is among the two universities shortlisted as finalists from India in this category.
Over 500 global institutions from 22 Asian countries and territories participated in the competition and the selection for ten different categories included the very best 80 inspiring stories.
Announcing the shortlisted universities in 10 categories, THE’s Chief Knowledge Officer, Phil Baty "The Covid-19 pandemic has continued to cast a shadow over higher education institutions, and your brilliant response to its challenges – rich in innovation, clear thinking, and sheer hard work – is still in evidence, but across 2022 shortlists we are also pleased to shine a light on inspirational work that has continued, unrelated to or unaffected by the virus. Inevitably with so many entries, we have already excluded countless wonderful stories in reaching this final stage, so the 80 of you featured on this year’s shortlists should be incredibly proud of making it this far."
In 2021, VU was the youngest university from the Western part of India to feature in the top 200 list of THE Impact Rankings released by Times Higher Education in ‘Affordable and Clean Energy’. THE Impact Rankings are the global performance tables that assess universities against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
