1. Introduction

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics organized a Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) on Friday, 07th November 2025, with the primary objective of strengthening the communication between parents and the department regarding the academic progress of students.

The meeting was part of Vishwakarma University’s ongoing efforts to maximize human potential and maintain a transparent and supportive educational environment. The PTM was conducted under the leadership of the Department Head, Dr. Jagadish V.Tawade, and in the esteemed presence of the class teachers Dr. Mahfooz Alam, Dr. Richa Panchgaur, Dr. Raeesa Bashir, and Dr. Sanjay Kumar Pal.

 

2. Purpose of the Meeting

The Parent-Teacher Meeting was organized with the following key objectives:

  • To update parents on their ward’s academic progress and overall performance.
  • To review attendance and engagement in classroom activities.
  • To address academic challenges or areas of concern.
  • To enhance collaboration among parents, teachers, and students for better learning

outcomes.

The meeting also provided a valuable platform for parents to interact directly with faculty members and share constructive feedback on the curriculum, assessment methods, and student

support initiatives. 

3. Proceedings of the Meeting

The meeting commenced at 3:00 PM with a welcome address by Dr. Jagadish V. Tawade, HOD of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.He emphasized the vital role of parental involvement in shaping a student's academic journey and highlighted the initiatives undertaken by the department to ensure quality education. Subsequently, the class teachers Dr. Mahfooz Alam, and Dr. Richa Panchgaur individually shared detailed academic reports and feedback about students’ performance.Each parent was given time for one-on-one interaction with the faculty members, ensuring personalized discussions.

 

4. Issues Raised by Parents

During the interactive session, parents actively participated and shared valuable feedback,with most queries centering around examination-related aspects. The major points discussed

 included:

  • Understanding the Examination Framework:

Parents requested a more comprehensive explanation of the overall evaluation system, including the role of internal assessments, assignments, and semester-end examinations.

  • Clarity and Fairness in Evaluation:

Several parents expressed a desire for greater transparency in the marking process and a clear breakdown of marks awarded during internal assessments.

  • Advance Communication of Exam Dates:

Parents emphasized the importance of announcing examination schedules well in advance to help students plan their studies and manage time efficiently.

  • Academic Support for Struggling Students:

Some parents suggested organizing extra tutorials, mentoring sessions, or subject-specific remedial classes to assist students who require additional academic support.

  • Managing Academic Stress:

A few parents highlighted the increasing academic pressure faced by students and recommended introducing counseling sessions or stress-relief workshops before examination periods.

Faculty members carefully considered each concern and assured parents that constructive steps would be taken to enhance transparency, communication, and student well-being in future academic practices.

5. Resolutions and Future Steps

Based on the feedback received, the Department has planned the following steps:

  • Circulating a detailed handbook regarding the examination structure and assessment criteria.
  • Organizing orientation sessions focused on the academic calendar and exam preparation tips.
  • Initiating remedial classes and peer tutoring programs.• Collaborating with the university’s counseling cell to organize stress management sessions before the examination period.

The department assured that all efforts will be made to create a more supportive environment for the students to excel academically and mentally.

6. Conclusion

The Parent-Teacher Meeting concluded successfully at 5:00 PM. It served as a platform for open and constructive dialogue between parents and faculty members.

The active participation of the parents and the meaningful discussions highlighted the mutual commitment towards the academic and personal growth of the students.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics expressed sincere gratitude to all the parents for attending the meeting and providing valuable feedback.

It was emphasized that continuous collaboration between parents and teachers is key tofostering a positive academic environment.
