Date: 12.03.2025
Location: Vishwakarma University, Pune
Purpose: To provide students with an in-depth understanding of acoustics, sound behavior, and the application of acoustic materials in interior spaces.
Department: Interior Spaces, Faculty of Architecture
Faculty Guides: Dr. Shraddha Jadhav, Dr. Rahul Honrao
Introduction:
The Department of Interior Spaces at Vishwakarma University, in collaboration with Dellience Enterprises, organized a guest session featuring Mr. Tushar Dastane and Mr. Francis. The session covered acoustics, sound, reverberation, and echo, along with their practical applications in interior design. A live demonstration was conducted in the Journalism & Mass Communication (JMC) Studio, providing students with hands-on experience in acoustic treatments.
Objectives:
- To introduce students to the fundamentals of acoustics.
- To demonstrate the real-world applications of sound behavior in interior spaces.
- To showcase different acoustic materials and their effectiveness.
- To bridge the gap between theory and practical application through live demonstrations.
Activities:
- Lecture on Acoustics – Overview of sound behavior, reverberation, and echo in interior spaces.
- Live Demonstration – Conducted in the Journalism & Mass Communication Studio to observe the impact of acoustic treatments.
- Material Showcase – Dellience Enterprises exhibited various acoustic materials, explaining their properties and applications.
Key Learnings:
- Understanding how sound interacts with different materials and spaces.
- Practical exposure to sound absorption, diffusion, and reflection in real-world scenarios.
- Learning about different acoustic treatment methods used in interior spaces.
- Exploring the importance of acoustics in creating functional and aesthetically pleasing interiors.
Conclusion:
The session provided valuable insights into acoustics and interior design, helping students develop a strong foundation in the subject. The live demonstrations and expert guidance from Dellience Enterprises enhanced their understanding of acoustic materials and design strategies.
Acknowledgments:
