Objective Of The Lecture Organised:
- Observational Analysis – To closely observe and document the architectural details, craftsmanship, and materials of St. Xavier’s Catholic Church, enhancing appreciation for heritage structures.
- Skill Enhancement – To refine manual sketching skills by capturing intricate elements such as textures, proportions, and decorative details without the use of digital tools.
- Heritage Understanding – To develop an awareness of architectural conservation principles through direct engagement with a historic site.
Important Aspects/Points Of The Lecture Delivered:
- Attention to Detail – Students must focus on the finer architectural elements, such as carvings, ornamentation, and materiality, to produce a comprehensive sketch.
- Discipline & Respect – Maintaining decorum, being punctual, working silently, and respecting the sanctity of the heritage site are key expectations.
- Submission & Learning Outcome – A detailed sketch must be submitted by 10.01.25, serving as a foundational exercise in architectural conservation and visual documentation.
