Department of Artificial Intelligence
On Friday, April 4, 2025, from 3:00 PM onwards, the Faculty of Science and Technology at Vishwakarma University, Pune successfully held the Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) for the second semester of the 2024-25 academic year. The purpose of the meeting was to enhance collaboration between parents, faculty, and students to promote student's overall development and academic achievement. The Department of Artificial Intelligence convened a session in Room 2407, located on the fourth floor of the second building. The meeting was marked by enthusiastic participation from parents of all three programs students across all disciplines.
Meet Overview
The program commenced at 3:00 PM, with a cordial welcome extended to the parents by the Dean of Science and Technology, Dr. K.R. Patil. This was followed by an address from Mr. Kiran Pawar, the Deputy Training and Placement Officer who underscored the significance of early engagement with industry and the role of placements in the engineering education journey. Prof. Kaustubh Utpat from Student Facilitation center and Dr. Omvir Gautam have interacted on International Relations. He cleared doubt of parents about queries regarding how the Programme operates, the eligibility criteria, and how credits earned at partner institutions abroad are transferred and recognized.
At 3:30 PM, parents were directed to their designated departmental rooms.
The Head of the Department, Dr. Pavitha Nooji addressed the assembly, offering a comprehensive overview of: the academic structure of all the three programs under Department of AI (B. Tech. (AI & DS), B. Tech. (CSE-AI), B. Tech. (CSE-AI&ML)).

- C2P2 Initiatives: Project-based learning, industry-linked projects, student-centered approach.
- Industrial Exposure: VU-BU Internship with Binghamton University (USA), industry projects in Term-II.
- Placements: Updated data for 2024 & 2025 batches shared.
- Academic Events: Guest lectures, workshops, STTPs, student activities.
- Student Support: Academic mentoring for FY students, technical events, and industry interaction.
- Faculty Interaction: Class teachers introduced for all years/programs, open discussion on student progress.
The HoD encouraged parents to actively support these initiatives and engage with the department for the holistic development of students, ensuring they are well-prepared for academic success and future career opportunities.
Parent-Faculty Interaction
Following a short tea break at 3:50 PM, parents reconvened at 4:00 PM. The main portion of the session, lasting from 4:05 PM to 5:00 PM, was allocated to individual discussions between parents, class teachers, and faculty members. During these discussions, parents expressed their appreciation for the academic environment and student-focused approach implemented by Vishwakarma University. They also provided constructive feedback on the curriculum delivery, mentorship, and extracurricular activities. The faculty members addressed issues concerning academic performance, attendance, and overall student well-being. The importance of regular parental involvement and communication with faculty to support student's academic progress has been emphasized.
In conclusion, the Parent-Teacher Meet for the Department of Artificial Intelligence provided a valuable opportunity for open dialogue between parents and faculty members. It has reinforced the university’s commitment to maximizing human potential through a collaborative approach.
