Brief description of the activity:
A heritage walk was conducted in the Pune Camp area under the guidance of Ar. Jui Tawade, Co-convenor of INTACH Pune Chapter. The walk covered significant colonial-era landmarks including Sir J.J. Agiary, St. Xavier’s Church, Shivaji Market, Budhani Wafers, Marzorin, Kayani Bakery, Cowasjee Dinshaw Library, and Victory Theatre. Students observed the architectural diversity of Parsi bungalows, Gothic Revival churches, Victorian-style public buildings, and marketplaces. The walk provided experiential learning on the evolution of Pune’s urban fabric, highlighting the challenges of conservation and adaptive reuse in a rapidly modernizing context. It sensitized students towards the significance of heritage as a living part of the city.
