Vishwakarma University Pune successfully conducted a 7-day Faculty Development Program on NSSO/NFHS UNIT-LEVEL DATA Extraction Using STATA from July 25 to July 31, 2022. The resource person for this FDP was Mr. Mohamad Aslam. Participants gained proficiency in basic STATA commands such as gen, rename, label, egen, recode, tag, destring, count, list, describe, substring, split, sort, and browse. They were introduced to official sources for downloading NSSO raw data from ICSSR and MoSPI. The program emphasized the significance of documents like Read me file, Schedule, instructions to field staff, Layout file, and raw data text files. Participants also learned to apply the CONCATENATE command in the layout file and create data files in STATA using details from the layout file.
