Prof. (Dr.) Avadhut Atre

I earned Bachelor’s degree in Applied Arts with specialization in Photography, a Master’s degrees in Applied Arts with specialization in Visualization and Indology, and a Doctorate in Advertising. I have a strong academic and professional experience of more than two decades in the fields of Graphic Design, Advertising & Marketing, Branding and Photography. I have held the important positions such as Dean – Academics and Principal at Vishwakarma Creative-i College, Pune.

I am a regular visiting faculty at various recognized universities and educational institutions for my core subjects. I am often invited as a jury under the Faculty of Visual Arts at reputed universities. I also serve as a member of Task Force Committee for finalizing syllabus, paper setting, paper checking and other examination duties. I have been a member of judging panel of various state level inter-university youth festivals viz. Indradhanush.

As a part of my continuing research on my core subjects, I have more than 15 research papers to my credit which are published in international and national journals.

Teaching Philosophy: During the period of two decades of my teaching experience, approach to student education has shifted from an emphasis on my teaching to student learning. Learning is followed by simple communication of subject with knowledge of current industry scenario. This teaching technique provides a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Every batch provides new challenges and opportunities for my own learning, as an instructor and a scholar. As my students change, I change. But ultimately, I also hope to give them the curiosity and skills that will allow them to participate in the genesis of that knowledge.
