The Kabaddi Tournament 2025 captured the essence of traditional Indian sport with intensity and pride. Over 220 participants from various departments competed across two action-packed days filled with power, agility, and tactical brilliance. The event encouraged fitness, camaraderie, and cultural appreciation, drawing enthusiastic support from students and faculty alike. The grand finale marked a memorable conclusion to this spirited inter-departmental showdown.
The Inter-Department Basketball Tournament 2025 brought together student athletes from across departments for two thrilling days of competition and teamwork. Over 130 players showcased their skill, speed, and strategy, cheered on by an energetic crowd. The matches highlighted the importance of unity, sportsmanship, and perseverance—values central to the spirit of VU. The Navratri Codethon 2025 witnessed vibrant participation from students across renowned institutions in India—including IITs, NITs, and other leading universities—as well as international participants from countries such as Germany. Over nine days, the event seamlessly intertwined cultural celebration with technical excellence, with each day dedicated to a unique domain of computer science symbolically aligned with the energy of the Goddess honoured that day. Participants engaged in a variety of intellectually stimulating challenges, ranging from algorithmic problem-solving and software development to AI and data-driven innovation. The event served as a confluence of ideas, collaboration, and creativity, offering students a platform to enhance their skills, connect with peers from diverse academic backgrounds, and celebrate the spirit of learning through the lens of cultural heritage.

The graph highlights the top 15 colleges by registrations for the event. Vishwakarma University (VU), Pune leads by a large margin with around 80 registrations, far exceeding other institutions. Final Grand Finale day of the Hackathon: On the final day of the Navratri-inspired coding challenge, we organized a 5-hour hackathon featuring two categories: Vibe Coding and Model Building. Participants showcased their creativity and technical skills, and the winners were felicitated by the Dean and other faculty members, marking a grand culmination of the event that blended cultural significance with innovation and competition.

By aligning each day's challenges with the symbolic energies of the Navratri Goddesses—from Shailaputri's foundational algorithms to Siddhidatri's enlightening Python explorations—the event not only honed essential coding and problem-solving skills but also celebrated heritage as a catalyst for innovation. The innovative hackathon finale, blending Vibe Coding and Model Building, underscored the event's commitment to real-world application and creativity, while robust engagement metrics—53K+ impressions and sustained views—highlighted its resounding impact. With enthusiastic feedback averaging 3.7/5 and certificates recognizing top performers, this codethon embodied Vishwakarma University's ethos of maximizing human potential, inspiring future generations of tech leaders to code with purpose, collaborate across boundaries, and innovate fearlessly in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
The School of Pharmacy, Vishwakarma University conducted an extension activity to mark World Patient Safety Day, which is observed worldwide on 17th September. The 2025 WHO theme, “Safe Care for Every Newborn and Every Child”, was the focus of the program.
The event was conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) S. Sunitha, Dean, School of Pharmacy, the convenor of the program. Faculty coordinators Prof. Kirti Deshpande and Prof. Prajakta Kapadnis accompanied the D. Pharm second-year students during their visit to Shrimati Kshibai Navle Hospital and Medical College, Narhe, Pune. With the cooperation of the nursing staff, students visited different hospital departments. They visited to ICU sections like ICCU, SICU, PICU and dermatology ward, venereology and leprosy ward, medicine and general ward etc. In the paediatric section, they interacted with healthcare professionals and discussed child safety practices and patient care guidelines.
The activity effectively linked classroom learning with practical exposure, enriching the students’ knowledge of child care and patient safety.

The Department of Artificial Intelligence, Vishwakarma University, Pune, organized an Alumni Mentorship Session on 3rd October 2025 in online mode. The session featured two distinguished alumni, Mr. Prathamesh Suhas Uravane, pursuing an MS in Applied Machine Learning at the University of Maryland, College Park, and Mr. Vedant Vinay Ganthade, pursuing an MS in Robotics (AI) at Arizona State University. The event was coordinated by Prof. Jayendra Jadhav under the guidance of Dr. Pavitha Nooji, HoD of Artificial intelligence Department, Faculty of Science and Technology.
The speakers highlighted the importance of making the most of the academic curriculum by building strong foundations in mathematics, programming, and AI/ML concepts. They stressed that students should focus not only on grades but also on developing problem-solving skills and practical knowledge. Both alumni emphasized that projects play a vital role in shaping a student’s career, advising participants to take up impactful academic and industry projects that solve real-world problems.
A significant part of the discussion focused on preparing for postgraduate studies abroad. The alumni explained the essentials of the application process, including exams, Statements of Purpose, and Letters of Recommendation. They shared personal experiences of challenges faced while studying abroad and encouraged students to align university choices with career aspirations rather than rankings alone.
The session also explored industry trends and emerging opportunities in AI and robotics. The speakers advised students to acquire multidisciplinary skills, gain experience with programming and cloud platforms, and stay updated with evolving areas such as Generative AI, Explainable AI, and Edge AI.
The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where students received practical tips on academic planning, applications, and career readiness. The School of Pharmacy, Vishwakarma University, Pune in collaboration with Centre of Sustainability Nexus, organized and conducted a Tree Plantation Drive at Taljai Hills, Pune, planting native saplings to enhance green cover, restore biodiversity, and raise awareness about environmental conservation. This initiative contributes to SDG 13 (Climate Action) by mitigating climate change, SDG 15 (Life on Land) by supporting ecosystems, and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by promoting greener, healthier urban spaces, reflecting a strong commitment to sustainability and community engagement.

World Tourism Day (WTD) is celebrated annually on 27th September to foster awareness about
the role of tourism within the international community and its impact on social, cultural, political,
and economic values. This year’s global theme declared by UNWTO was “Tourism and
Sustainable Transformation ”
The Department of Travel & Tourism, Vishwakarma University, celebrated this occasion as a
three-day commemorative event with a series of engaging, interactive, and impactful activities
designed to promote sustainable and responsible tourism among students and stakeholders in
collaboration with Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.

Neural Canvas 2025 was organized as a creative and engaging platform for students to express their ideas
through design while integrating Artificial Intelligence concepts. With a mix of inaugural activities, a quiz,
and a poster-making competition, the event promoted teamwork, innovation, and cross-disciplinary interaction
among students.
The primary objectives of the Neural Canvas Poster Competition:
The event began with a warm welcome followed by the Inaugural Ceremony, which included the Lighting ofthe Lamp, introduction of dignitaries. A QR Code Quiz engaged students before the poster-making competition commenced. The competition saw active participation, with students designing posters using Figma and later presenting their ideas to a jury. The top 3 winners and 2 runner-ups were awarded, followed by acknowledgments and a valedictory ceremony.
