Objective:

The workshop aimed to introduce students to the traditional art form of Warli painting, originating from the Warli tribe in Maharashtra. Beyond the artistic aspect, the workshop aimed to foster an appreciation for cultural heritage and provide students with a hands-on experience in this unique form of expression.

Learning Highlights:

  1. Cultural Context: Understanding the historical and cultural significance of Warli art within the context of Indian traditions.
  2. Techniques and Styles: Exploring the techniques and distinctive styles that define Warli paintings.
  3. Hands-on Experience: Engaging in practical sessions, allowing students to create their own Warli art pieces under the guidance of Prof. Amruta Gangakhedkar.
