In all, 55 VU students are selected for a prestigious YES Foundation Media for Social Change Fellowship, supported by YES Bank, out of 15,000 aspirants across 535 cities and towns pan-India.
99 VU students had applied for this opportunity. The students were shortlisted based on their profile and performance in the interviews conducted last week.
The majority of selected VU students are from Journalism and Mass Communication, followed by Psychology, Design, and Management.
This prestigious Fellowship develops socially conscious youth leadership and amplifies Communication efforts of NGOs to maximise their social impact.
As part of the Fellowship, high potential youth will be trained by industry experts in 1-week intensive classroom training on marketing, communications, digital and social media, followed by a 7-week placement in NGOs where the Fellows assist well-defined communication projects. Engagement with social causes will sensitise youth and enable them to emerge as social leaders.
A stipend of INR 10,000 will be given for the duration of the Fellowship along with a Certificate on successful completion of the program. Additionally, there will be some Scholarship and internship opportunities post Fellowship. The application was free, students are not required to pay any amount.
