Vishwakarma University’s Commerce and management students visited National Stock Exchange of India Ltd at Mumbai as a part of Industry Visit. The National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. (NSE) is the leading stock exchange in India and the second largest in the world by nos. of trades in equity shares from January to June 2018, according to World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) report. NSE is one of the major contributer to the dream of $5 trillion Indian economy. Students got more fascinated when they came to know that the place where they were sitting had been occupied by eminent economists, finance ministers, and prime minister of the country.
Mr. Purv Shah, conducted a session on various concepts of stock exchange. Session started with basic concepts of stock exchange and touch based various advanced developments implemented by NSE in Indian stock market. Session demonstrated the role of exchanges in developing the country's Economy. Student's questions regarding risks in stock market, operations of stock markets, transaction cycles, derivative instruments, hedging, commodity, magic of compounding vs cost of delay, future goals of NSE, were very nicely addressed in the session.
The session also put light on NSE initiatives on investor education. Students were informed about various modules and certifications available through NSE to build their CV as well as knowledge base.
