A conversation about the cultural landscape of Pune is incomplete without a discussion about Chitle Bandhu and its appetizing Bakarwadis. On 12th December 2017, a visit was planned to the Chitle Bandhu Plant for students visiting from Hof University of Applied Science, Germany and Vishwakarma University students in order to acquaint them with the latest in FMCG sector. Chitle Bandhu, which began with a single outlet in Pune is now one of the biggest Mithai Making (FMCG) company in Pune. At the moment it has two outlets of its own and others run on franchisee model. Students were taken to see two automated manufacturing lines of Bakarwadi, they learnt about the raw material required, safety precautions taken, type of machines used and overall manufacturing process etc. The visit was helpful for Hof students in familiarizing them with the domestic production, use of technology in Indian market and allowed students from both the universities to learn as to how a sustainable growth is achieved in business, how logistics of FMCG company can be managed and how automation will help the FMCG business.
