Students from Journalism and Mass Communication recently attended National Public Service Broadcasting (PSB) Day and Participated in the ensuing symposium on 11 November 2019 at Akashwani, Shivajinagar, Pune. Broadcast Engineering Society India, Pune chapter celebrates PSB Day in Pune every year. On 12 November 1947 Mahatma Gandhi had visited the studios of Akashvani at Sansad Marg, Delhi for the first and last time to address the refugees affected by partition. Every year 12 November is celebrated as National Public Service Broadcasting Day throughout the country. Khusi Dave and Anand Pandav from second year participated in the Symposium and presented their views on ‘Public Service Broadcasting in India – Relevance, Expectation and Challenges’ with the Students of other media Institutes (DCJ of SPPU, MMCC, D.Y. Patil University and MIT University) in Pune. The able guidance of JMC faculty Prof. Abhishek Bhosale ensured a well-coordinated participation in the program and symposium.
