An Investor Education Programme (IEP) was conducted on behalf of Bombay Stock Exchange-Investor Protection Fund on Saturday, 16 Sep 2017. The topic was “Capital Market Awareness with an Overview of Securities Market”. The session began with a brief overview of Securities Market covering Purpose, Components, Regulators and Other Key players in Securities Market. Further various Market offerings of BSE were explained. Issues such as key rights of Investors; Investor Grievance and Redressal Mechanism and Investor do's and don'ts in Capital Market were also discussed.
Mr. Mathkar, Resource person for the session, then explained how capital market operates and how one can beat inflation by investing right. Aspects such as Equity v/s Debt; Investing v/s Trading were also discussed. The session concluded with an Overview of Mutual Funds and Financial Planning where the key aspects of Investment and the three pillars of Investing- i.e. Consistency; liquidity and Returns, were discussed leading to selecting a fund / stock and making right investment decision.
