India's 71st Independence Day was celebrated at Vishwakarma University campus on 15th August 2017. It was the first Independence Day celebration at the newly established Vishwakarma University. Vice chancellor of Vishwakarma University Prof. Dr. Siddharth Jabade hoisted the National Flag. While addressing the gathering, he said that the country need Citizens who should be responsible and committed to the growth of the country. He also said that the University aims at achieving technology-enabled holistic development of students. This will help us achieve what the country's goal is. Dr. Wasudev Gade, Ex. Vice-Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University and now Vice-president of Vishwakarma University said that efficiency and transparency in work are the most essential factors for any university to achieve greater heights in limited time.
Some delightful and motivating dance performances based on Social Harmony and National Integration were performed by the students. On this occasion, all the dignitaries, faculty, staff and students of the university, took an oath to keep vicinity clean, to do justice to fellow countrymen and fight against crime, racism and intolerance. Programme was anchored by Ms. Mayuri Bansode and Mr. Imaad Patvegar, student volunteers, from First Year of MBA Programme at the Vishwakarma University.
