Nine Engineering students studying in 4th year from three renowned institutes of Gujarat, i.e., Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat, Adani Institute of Infrastructure Engineering Ahemdabad and Aditya Silver Oak institute of technology, Ahmedabad visited Water Quality Centre of Excellence at Vishwakarma University on 6th of June 2019 for the education tour. First half they gained knowledge about the Wilo Company followed by visit to WQCE at VU.
Brain storming group discussion on various aspects of environmental issues were discussed with special mention to Water Scarcity and its possible solutuions. Ameya Yogesh Choupare, Panjwani Abhinav Aminbhai, Akash Sanjaybhai Mistry,Shripal Singh Deora,Sourav Jha,Amit Kumar Lohar,Harshit Narendrabhai Panchal,Suraj Ramnik Raiyani, and Patel Chintan Ashokkumar from Gujrat participated with full enthusiasm. Students of First Year (Karan Jagtiani, Rajat Choudhary and Juily Despande) of Vishwakarma University also interacted with students of Gujarat and participated in Group Discussion. Students shared and explained about their ongoing projects related to waste water treatment, civil solution for segregation of kitchen waste, municipal solid waste, green building concepts. Suggestion and guidance was given to them on various issues by Dr. Shraddha Khamparia, Deputy Director of WQCE.
Students visited Water Quality Centre and learned about the sofacticated instruments in the state of the art Water Quality Centre of Excellence. M.Tech Students Ms. Vaishnavi and Ms. Yashashree explained about the importance of organics and inorganics present in water. Seeing all the instruments at one place with several applications generated curiosity amongst the students pursue research in the area of the most exploited natural resource water. Education visited concluded with an activity (hanging of bird feeders on trees on VU campus) arranged on the eve of World’s Environment Day, where all the students agreed that innovative steps needs to be taken for conserving nature.
