70th Constitutional Day

A Constitution is a basic document and the supreme legal act of a state enshrining the principles of equality, liberty, unity and integrity. It provides the guidelines for peaceful and effective administration of a state, adhering to the ‘rule of law’ i.e., ‘no one is above the law’. The Constitution of India also very well cherishes these principles under its various provisions guaranteeing and giving paramount importance to the rights of individuals.

To bring about awareness on the significance of the Indian Constitution and pay respect to its architects the government of India decided to commemorate 26th November as ‘Constitution Day’or ‘Sanvidhan Divas’. Vishwakarma University Celebrated 70th Constitution Day on 26th November 2019 in the presence of Students, Faculty Members and non-teaching staff. This Samvidhan Divas was special as we have completed 70 years of adoption of the Indian Constituion. Thus this gathering was an opportunity to reinforce our obligations towards Constitutional values contributing to nation building.

The event was coordinated by Asst. Prof. Sarika Sagar, Head of Department, Department of Law and Governance and Asst. Prof. Kailash Bhosale, Student Development Officer, VU. The event included the reading of the Preamble and live telecast of the function of Constitution Day from Parliament House.
