Mukta Avachat- Shirke is working as a free-lance artist since 2008. She has done her Diploma from Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalay Pune and Masters from SNDT Women’s University, Pune in 2008. She has also done a short course of Figure Drawing in London in 2014. Currently she is pursuing her PhD from the same university.
She has done many exhibitions of her artworks in Pune, Mumbai, Indonesia. Her works have been awarded in many juried competitions like Bombay Art Society, Art Society of India, Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation etc. As an artist she likes to work mainly in oil or pastels. Her works mostly revolve around the human figures which hold the whole attraction of the composition also allowing the observer to create conclusions or his own world of emotions. She has been selected for the event of Portrait Symposium in Mumbai conducted by The Bombay Art Society and Lalit Kala Akademy, Delhi. She has also participated in National Camps in Karnataka, Chandigarh and Jammu.
