Overview

Water is one of the seventeen global priorities agreed by world leaders, captured within the sustainable development goals (SDG). The SDG 6 demands for treatment of wastewater and provision of universal access to adequate sanitation by 2030.

Addressing these challenges requires people with the necessary skills, knowledge, experience, and the professional networks and opportunities to provide sustainable water and sanitation solutions is an integral part of the M.Sc. Waste Water and Sanitization Management Course. It will accelerate the impact of wastewater treatment and sanitation management for the betterment of society by creating professionals in this field.  

In the context of the SDGs, there develops an urgent need for professionals in water, wastewater, and sanitation management. The aim of this unique programme is to impart knowledge and detailed insights into wastewater and sanitation management to students and create an intellectual asset. The students will also be equipped with technical, social, and personal skills for the development of leadership and team working.


 
Outcome On successful completion of the M.Sc. programme at VU the student will be able to :
1 Create, select and apply appropriate techniques in solving complex problems in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene sector.
2 Demonstrate effective planning abilities including time management, resource management, delegation skills and organizational skills.
3 Utilize the principles of critical thinking and design thinking approach while solving problems.
4 Transform ideas into reality using appropriate methods, procedures, resources, and modern tools.
5 Understand human responsibility towards environmental factors and demonstrate the best practices in terms of moral, social, and environmental ethics.
6 Recognize and manage different scenarios in sectors related to technological, social, gender, economic contexts.
