M.Sc. (Economics)

Master of Science (Economics)

2 Years - 4 Semesters - Full Time

Going to the moon is not a matter of Physics but Economics!

It is a specialized programme that aims to prepare students for highly gainful careers in Economics with mathematical and statistical tools. Economics is a discipline that is fundamental in decision-making and policy formulation. Its descriptive and inferential roles not only formulate the basis of growth for almost all disciplines of the contemporary world but also provide an array of non-traditional employment avenues ranging from academics to business analysts.

The M.Sc. Economics programme focuses on Economic theory and its application to real problems. The focus of this programme is to prepare students to enter into a promising professional life even after graduation, as also provide to them a platform for pursuing higher studies leading to post-graduate or doctoral degrees. During the programme, students will be equipped to use theoretical and practical skills.

We ensure all students are given a broad knowledge of the technical and functional aspects of the economy and its interconnection through all the other disciplines. Graduates may apply the knowledge gained in the production industry, financial, academic research, and agriculture sectors.

“As an economics student in the 12th grade, I decided I wanted to pursue economics as a major due to the intriguing analytical framework the subject offers. Vishwakarma University had come under my radar because of my parents.  I cannot comment about my experience without the grain of  restrictions on the way classes could be run in the last year. However, despite this, the university, especially its faculty, has made a notable attempt to salvage the learning experience wherever possible. The consistency and sufficiency of the contact hours provided by the university were of a good standard when looking at each respective course in the program.”

-Divesh Aswani

“I decided to choose B.Sc. Economics as I wanted to understand the subject in great detail. I surfed on the internet for better career prospects in economics and having a B.Sc. degree in economics will be more appropriate for me than a BA as I want to become an investment banker. My experience with VU till now is really good. Our professors - Ankita madam, Amol sir are really very supportive and they really want us to thrive in our careers. This was my overall experience with VU till now. Vishwakarma is a good example of an ideal place for students who want to pursue excellence in their desired stream. To add a feather to the cap, it focuses on rigorous training to develop the employability of every student and also offers excellent employment opportunities."
