Pharmacists represent third largest health care profession in the world after physicians/doctors. Pharmacy education in India, basically B. Pharm is an industry- and product oriented profession with a focus on the basic sciences.
The B. Pharmacy course is basically a bachelor program on Pharmaceutical Sciences which cover a comprehensive range of major and minor subjects like Human Anatomy & Physiology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, Biochemistry and Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology. Minor subjects may include, Hospital Pharmacy, Clinical Pharmacy, Immunology, Marketing & Business Management, Compuputer Applications, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, Computational Chemistry and / or minor projects and industrial training.
The Pharmaceutical industry is increasingly becoming hi-tech, which is playing an important role in global healthcare today. It is paramount that students are prepared to meet all the new challenges in the pharmacy sector. In Vishwakarma University (VU), the B. Pharm. syllabus, teaching methodology, training and infrastructure is designed to meet these requirements of students.
